Born: ![]() It is with great sadness that we, the family of Larry Dean Battenfelder, announce his sudden passing on Dec. 29, 2008 at the age of 43. Larry is survived by his wife Barb, two loving children whom he adored, Matt and April, his mother Rosalie, brother Lyle (Wendy) Battenfelder of St. Albert, brother Lance Battenfelder of Smith, in-laws Peter and Elsie Dutchak of Vermilion, sister-in-law Pat (Don) Stachniak of Camrose, brother-in-law Randy (Helen) Dutchak of Calgary, sister-in-law Jackie (Todd) Hodge of Slave Lake, also many nieces, nephews and a huge number of close friends. Larry was predeceased by his father Jack in 1985 and two nieces Kelsey in 1991 and Taylor in 1993. Larry was proud to be a member of the Slave Lake Volunteer Fire Department for the past 18 years and considered them his second family. A celebration of Larry’s life was held on Jan. 2, 2009 at the Gathering Place in Slave Lake at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations were being made to the Slave Lake Fire Fighters Association. “Larry, you will be in our hearts forever!” | |||||||||||||||||||
