Cere, Gemma

After a 30-year battle with cancer, Gemma Cere, former resident of Slave Lake, passed away on Oct. 28, 2007 in Edmonton at the age of 74 years.
Funeral services were held in Slave Lake at St. Peter Celestin Catholic Church on Nov. 3, 2007, with Father Charles Lavoie officiating. Interment is to be held at a later date in McLennan.
Gemma is survived by her loving family: Edgar – daughters Carole (Marcel) Michaud, Dominique (Barton Coady) Cere; five grandchildren – Michelle (Richard) Dallaire, Madelaine (Brent) Opdahl, Marc, Denis, Diane; Three great-grandchildren – Bryson, Braelyn, Kjersten; sisters Jeanine, Velma, Pat, Ginette; brothers Guilbert and Richard. She was pre-deceased by her parents Aventure and Corinne Page, brothers George and Edwin and one sister, Nora.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all those who have helped and supported Gemma one way or another. Special thanks to Dr. Ramlall and Dr. Khan for their care and compassion towards our mother throughout her illness.
