Born: ![]() On Sunday, June 28, 2009, Owen John Ostopchuk of Slave Lake, formerly of Whitecourt, passed away tragically and unexpectedly in a boating accident at the age of 42 years. Owen will always be loved and never forgotten by Lisa, his wife, best friend and love of his life since they were teenagers; son, Colten (17); daughters, Riel (14) and Paige (8), all of Slave Lake; his loving mother, Sharon of Whitecourt; maternal grandmother, Laurette Killaly of Edmonton; sister, Jacqueline Barber of Edmonton; brother, Aaron (Lisa) ; his nephew, Kobe Tschigerl and their children, Jenna, Logan and Sean, all of Whitecourt; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by father, William (May 2009); paternal grandparents, Pearl and William Sr.; maternal grandfather, Steven Killaly; cousin, Mark Ostopchuk; and mother-in-law, Gayle Duncan. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Whitecourt. Reverend Limneo Zamora Jr. officiating with interment in Whitecourt Cemetery.
