Rensfelt, Bertha Seraphine

Longtime Wagner resident Bertha Seraphine Rensfelt passed away on Mar. 14, 2008, at the age of 95, at the Slave Lake Health Complex.
Bertha was born on Sept. 6, 1912 in Bromhead, Saskatchewan, to Cory and Edward Frederick. She moved to Alberta in the 1930s and married Evert Rensfelt on Feb. 26, 1941, in High Prairie. They operated a farm and mink ranch in Wagner for many years.
Bertha is survived by son Lance (Martha) and daughter Sharon (Don Neal); three grandchildren – Michael, Michelle and Morgan Neal; four great-grandchildren; Simone, Zade, Chase and Reese; two sisters, one brother and too many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews to name.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Evert in 1988; son Roger in 1967; her parents, six brothers and four sisters.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, Mar. 18 at St. Peter’s Ecumenical Church in Slave Lake, with Pastor Wil Porat officiating. Interment followed at the Swan Valley Cemetery south of Kinuso.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Slave Lake Hospital Equipment Fund.
Bertha’s family would like to extend special thanks to her very good friends and neighbours.
