Stuart, Isabelle

Born: 1914
Passed: October 27, 2009

Long-time Slave Lake resident Isabelle Stuart passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2009 at the age of 94. Isabelle was born in Musselburgh, Scotland, on Dec. 9, 1914, and emigrated to Canada in 1963. She worked at the Slave Lake General Hospital for about 15 years until she retired. Isabelle resided at the Vanderwell Lodge until last year when she moved over to the hospital awaiting long-term care. Isabelle will be sadly missed by her daughter Frances (Charles) Prichuk, grandson Steven (Marlee) Adams, and her three great grandchildren, Jadyn, Kamrin and Jackson Adams. The family would like to thank the staff at the Slave Lake long term care unit, the Slave Lake hospital and Vanderwell Lodge for the care she received during her time with them. At her request, cremation was handled by the Chapel of Memories in High Prairie and a memorial service was held at the Swan Valley Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Slave Lake Long Term Care unit.
