Slave Lake, Alberta

Madsen, Frank Lenard

Born:
Passed: April 30, 2007
One of Faust’s most colourful characters has passed away.
Frank Lenard Madsen passed away April 30 at the age of 91 years.
Madsen came to the Faust area from Coronation, Alta. He operated a fur farm in Faust for many years. Later, he got into the lumber industry by operating a sawmill. Later, he took on another challenge by becoming a grain farmer in the Faust district.
Madsen was known as a great conservationist, probably because of his interest in the fur industry and Lesser Slave Lake. He was also known to tell many a story of the old days. People could sit for hours listening to Madsen tell his tales and marvel at his knowledge of local history.
A celebration of life will be held for Madsen Tuesday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Kinuso Agricultural Hall. A lunch will follow afterwards at the Kinuso Seniors Centre. Everyone who knew Madsen is welcome to attend both functions.
