On June 8, a 25-year-old man was in Slave Lake Provincial Court charged with attempted murder.
On June 10, he was also charged with second degree murder, a second charge of attempted murder, and two charges of aggravated assault.
He is in custody. His next court date is June 22 in Slave Lake.
On June 5, the Slave Lake RCMP received a report of a stabbing at 3:11 p.m., says a June 6 RCMP news release. The officer found the first victim, a 22-year-old with multiple stab wounds in southwest Slave Lake. On a patrol of the area, he found a second injured man, who was 28 years old. Finally, he found a man who had died from stab wounds.
The homicide victim was John Gabriel Constance Noskiye (49), of Wabasca.
On June 8, an RCMP officer confirmed that the stabbings happened in a homeless camp in southwest Slave Lake. The officer also said that Noskiye was of ‘no fixed address.’
This matter is now before the court, so there will be no more updates from the RCMP.
