The Lakeside Leader started in 1972 as the North Land Free Press in Slave Lake, Alberta. Since then, it has published a community paper weekly. It is available in print, online, and via email subscription.

The Leader comes out on Wednesday. Advertising deadline is Thursday, 4:00 p.m. A yearly subscription costs $55.00 (GST included) and $50.00 (GST included) for seniors in Canada.

The paper is available free of charge to M.D. of Lesser Slave River residents at the M.D. office, Canyon Creek Winks, Char’s Railway Cafe in Smith, the Flatbush Post Office, and at The Leader office in Slave Lake.
