Slave Lake’s summer swim club, the Sharks, competed at a meet in Grande Prairie on June 21, and the good results of earlier meets were repeated or maybe even improved upon.
Forty-five Sharks made the trip. No fewer than 10 of them came home with aggregate medals. Aggregate medals are awarded at the end of the meet – the result of adding up all the points earned from how they finished in individual races.
In addition to the medals, Sharks swimmers racked up 111 personal best times!
The aggregate winners were: Quinn Lebrecque-Boys 6 & under bronze, Claire Soucy-Girls 6 & under bronze, Markus Maganes-Boys 7/8 silver, Sean Rabago-Boys 7/8 silver, Cobie Gall-Girls 9/10silver, Jorgia Green-Girls 13/14 silver, Grace Auger-Girls 15-17 silver, Brie Hoover-Girls 18+ silver, Dawson Taylor-Boys 15-17 silver, and Kellen Tissink-Boys 5-17 silver.
Then on June 28, 34 Sharks swimmers attended the Peace River/Smoky River Manatees Swim Meet in Peace River. Fifty personal best times were set in the course of the meet, for starters. Sharks won several aggregate medals as well.
Kellen Tissink won gold aggregate in the Boys 15 – 17 category. Otherwise, Quinn Labrecque, Blake Dahlgren, Jorgia Green and Grace Auger all won silver.
Winning bronze aggregate medals were Sloan Woolston, Markus Maganes, Dawson Taylor and Axl McGlynn.
