On Saturday, September 10, artist Kristin Thackeray and her helper Mitch Carswell started the mural on the side of the Slave Lake Legion. Here they are working on the bottom left corner.Asked what it was going to be, Thackeray responded, she couldn’t say.
The image was a secret.

Here’s how far the mural had come by Sunday, September 18. The section on the left is the one that Thackeray and Carswell were painting on Sept. 10.In other mural news, panels were also up at Citizen’s Park, however, by Sept. 18 no painting had started.
