Autumn event hopes to bring seasonal Hallmark charm to SL

Brenna Emes says this year’s Welcome Autumn event, set for Saturday, Sept. 9, in front of Creative Goods and Co. and B Worthy Boutique. The event is designed to give people something warm, cozy and a little different as the season changes.

The event, hosted and funded by Creative Goods and Co. and B Worthy, is now in its fourth year.

Emes says the goal is simple: to create a welcoming autumn celebration that gives back to the community.

“We just want to make a little Hallmark set,” Emes says. “It’s all things cozy and pumpkins.”

The celebration is overseen by the farmers market, which will be running on an adjacent street near the event site.

Emes says the connection with the market helps make the day a fuller community outing.
Emes says the idea came from a mix of personal enthusiasm and a desire to offer families another reason to spend time together locally.

“It was inspired by my love of autumn, our community, and Gilmore Girls,” she says.
The event will include a corn roast and unique food vendors coming in from out of town for the celebration.

Emes says it is meant to be a good day for families to come out, visit the market, and enjoy something seasonal.

A major part of the work, she says, is creating the feel of a movie set.
She puts effort into the details so the event feels inviting and memorable for people who attend.

Emes says she appreciates the community assistance that helps bring the event together.
Now, Emes is hoping for good weather and a strong turnout from the community this year.
