Baseball players warming up indoors

Minor baseball workouts continue indoors until weather permits them to move outdoors. Midget Heat coach Dave LaFrance says they appreciate the indoors space, given the circumstances.
“With the winter and rough spring we are having,” he says, “the MRC is a great spot for us.”
LaFrance says for sure there will be a Midget team entering ‘AA’ provincial play this year. Whether there will be younger age group teams competing in provincial ball remains to be seen. There will certainly be local teams participating in the Pembina League again this season.
More on this from Kevin Campbell of Minor Baseball. He says the hope is to have Mosquito, Pee Wee and Bantam teams in provincial play, but so far the Bantam numbers are low.
T-ball, Rookie and Junior Rookie numbers “are looking very good,” he says.

Dave LaFrance gives some pointers on batting at an April 9 minor ball practice at the field house in Slave Lake.
