Leader staff
Armed with bear spray, two people made off with stolen items from a store in Slave Lake on Mar. 1. Two days later, RCMP said in a news release they had found the suspect vehicle, “and the investigation is continuing.” The release did not say so, but this seems to indicate the culprits themselves had not been located at that point.
According to the release, the robbery happened in the noon hour on the above date. Two males entered The Source store and were seen taking merchandise without paying for it.
A store staff member followed the pair outside and confronted them, only to have bear spray discharged in his direction.
The culprits then jumped in their vehicle and sped off.
Missing from the store is a Sony Bluetooth speaker and a remote-control drone; the combined value of the two items is an estimated $500.
If you have any information on this crime, please contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3999, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The RCMP release did not provide a description of the vehicle.
