Big Lakes County has a new Director of Corporate Services, who will be responsible for the financial aspects of the organization.

Joe Zdeb started on April 1 in the new position, although he had been with the county since 2021 in an information technology role.

Zdeb welcomes the new opportunity and the challenge it represents.

“It is a very dynamic field with many different aspects,” he says. “Working with the county gives me the opportunity to improve processes and ultimately provide better services to residents.”

Zdeb believes his experience and “different skill set,” has prepared him for his new role.

“Having worked in municipal government IT for the past eight years,” he says, “I’ve been involved with implementing many processes, hands-on, across the diverse set of functions that a municipality needs to carry out.”

Zdeb says he has “a keen eye for finding effective solutions.”

One area of focus for the new director will be the county’s asset management program; also “finding efficiencies for our internal operations, to make our services easier to access to our residents.”

Zdeb has been working with municipal governments since 2016, and has been consulting on information technology since 2013.

Zdeb succeeds David Reynolds, who joined the county in May of 2022 as Director of Corporate Services.
