To start this week’s ‘happy baby’ yoga pose, Lori Whitby of Slave Lake Smiling Dog Yoga says lie on your back.
“With an exhale, bend your knees into chest and clasp your hands being tied with the middle and index finger of both hands,” she says. “Open your knees slightly wider than your upper body then bring them up toward your armpits and bring the feet above the knees.”
Whitby adds, “Make sure to keep the head and neck on the mat. If you have difficulty holding the feet with your hands, hold onto a yoga strap looped over each foot or try holding onto either your shins or ankles until your head comes back into the mat.”
Gently stretches the hips and groin and lengthens the spine and calms the brain and helps relieve stress.
