Christmasy things that are happening in the community

Christmas is a time for giving, for decorating, for doing all sorts of special things. And for having fun!
Here are a few photos of some of what has been going on – some submitted, some taken by us.

Merry Christmas from Miss Lebsack’s Kindergarten and Grade 1 class at Smith School.
Smith School Grade 6 students on Christmas dress-up day.
Mrs. Green’s Grade 5 class at E.G. Wahlstrom during Christmas sweater day.
Ada Jones, Grade 4, with ‘spider hair,’ at E.G. Wahlstrom.
C.J. Schurter Elementary School made COVID compliant performance videos. These are some of the performances. Mrs. LaFrance’s Grade 2 class dances.
All school and seniors photos courtesy of the schools or facility.
Something happening in Canyon Creek is the Community Christmas Card, a project of the Canyon Creek Recreation Association. Pam Porter tells us it’s the sole fundraising project for the association for the year and is also a way of building community spirit. Dale Giroux donated the materials, and volunteers made it. The rec association organizes the annual Canada Day parade, and various other events and programs through the year (COVID permitting!).

Sending letters to Santa Claus is pretty exciting, and these kiddies from playschool in Smith got to do it in person! Thanks to Smith School for the photo.
