Unless something dramatic happens, COVID has been demoted to a brief mention on The Page.
From July 3 to 8, a man and a woman 80 or older died from COVID-19 in the AHS North Zone – one from Athabasca County and the other from Smoky Lake County.
As of July 8 in the Slave Lake AHS local geographic area (incl. Peerless Trout Lake First Nation to just west of Smith), 55 per cent of people 12+ had at least one COVID-19 vaccine. Also, 36.7 per cent were fully immunized.
From July 3 to 8, 51 people in the area received a first dose and 548 a second one.
During that same time (active cases on July 8) the M.D. of Lesser Slave River (incl. Slave Lake) COVID situation was – one active (four recovered).
(As of 3:50 the provincial government hadn’t posted July 9 numbers, so these are from July 8).
