On August 15-17 Driftpile Cree Nation welcomed its people home for a weekend of culture, food and fun at the nation’s annual powwow. The fun all happened at the arbour beside Highway 2. The weather cooperated nicely for the majority of the weekend.

Dancers from across northern Alberta attended; some even came from Saskatchawan.

Powwows are held to celebrate the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples by bringing them together to heal by dancing.
