Down in flames

A trailer house in northwest Slave Lake burnt down on June 7.

“We were called to a trailer fire in Lynwood (Estates) around 3 p.m. June 7,” says Alex Pavcek, Lesser Slave Lake Regional Fire Chief. “Heavy fire in the back of the unit. Everyone was out, there was concern of a family pet still inside. However, it had made its way outside and was found later.

“About 25 firefighters from Slave Lake and Widewater worked on the fire until about 5 p.m. In the end, no one was injured. Does not appear to be suspicious. However, the official cause is still under investigation.”
