Lakeshore Regional Police Service is doing its bit to put a crimp in the illegal drug trade in its jurisdiction. In the middle of last month, the LRPS swooped in on a residence in Driftpile and found quite a trove of illegal stuff. Five people are facing charges.
The search, conducted on Dec. 16 with the help of High Prairie RCMP, RCMP Dog Services and RCMP Tactical Response, found “a quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, prescription pills, drug trafficking paraphernalia, firearms, ammunition and electronic storage devices,” says the Dec. 18 news release.
A related traffic stop resulted in the seizure of a large amount of “illicit marijuana.”
The accused in the case are due to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court on Feb. 8, 2021.
