Technology is getting more involved in many peoples daily lives. Laptops, Chrome books, iPads and cell phones all have access to the internet.
The Alberta Government is giving Albertans a new and improved system that allows access to Alberta Healthcare cards and government issued cards on their phones. No more of those worn out healthcare cards. Sounds good to us!
Security and privacy are one of the main components to this switch. That may lead to more concerned people with questions. Can we really trust these advanced apps with our sensitive information? That’s a topic of its own and we’re sure there is plenty of coverage of it already online,
The government controls many things and there isn’t much to do about it. Except for rallying and doing protests. Those are hit or miss. The last time The Leader reported on a nurse protest last winter. The protest was held in front of the Slave Lake Healthcare clinic sign. Similar rallies were held across the province this time. However, we’re there results? We hear they got a really good deal. Good for them!
On the other hand, having your Alberta cards in your pockets isn’t a bad idea either. Can’t find your physical card? It’s on your phone. Sounds like a great idea. But what happens if you don’t have a phone? It turns out Albertan’s are still welcome to use their physical card.
Times are changing, technology is taking over and artificial intelligence is now in the mix as well. What’s next? Only time will really tell us but not all of us are gonna be around. A new era.
