‘Fall ball’ will try to co-exist with hockey

A group of Slave Lake Bantam and Midget-aged baseball players will be juggling baseball and hockey at the same time (at least some of them) for the next few weeks. Not to mention schoolwork and whatever else they may be involved in.
“We have entered a team,” says Bantam Heat coach Dave LaFrance. “Not sure who and when we play, and the season goes until Thanksgiving or the snow flies.”
Several of the players will be trying out for Bantam or Midget hockey teams during this period.
“Practices will be scheduled around the hockey season,” LaFrance says.
The team is hoping to host a set of games during that period, which LaFrance says would be a double-header against another team.
Subsequently, The Leader heard the team would be playing in Edmonton this past weekend.
