Lots of talk last week about Canadians at war. Sacrifices. The ultimate price, etc. An impressive feature of some newspapers is photos of such veterans that appear every year. For some reason this has never been done in Slave Lake and we’re not sure why, except that perhaps the system to organize such an archive has never existed. The Legion has a few photos, but far from all of them, as we understand it. There may be a shortfall there when it comes to institutional memory, that valuable asset.
Anyway, maybe we should get on it earlier next year and see what we can do. Feel free to remind us.
