Finishing off the youth centre

All’s well that ends well and in the case of a long-awaited donation to the Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre by CNRL, it really ended well, with the presentation of a $17,000 donation last week. The money was promised quite some time ago to help the Friendship Centre put flooring in its youth centre. The centre is now up and running, says Friendship Centre Executive Director Barb Courtorielle (left), with the Community Helpers Program using the space during the day and AA meetings held there a couple of evenings a week. Presenting the cheque on behalf of CNRL is Lee Cardinal. Says Cardinal: “CNRL works hard to support the community of Slave Lake and many other surrounding communities. Community investment is one of CNRL’s pillars.”
