Have you snapped a picture of yourself in one of those bright red and white picture frames hanging around town yet? Don’t worry if you haven’t because there is still time to do so.
“The Frame It competition is still underway,” says Town of Slave Lake communications co-ordinator Christopher Brown. “Residents can check the Town of Slave Lake Facebook page to keep updated on its location.”
According to Brown, the competition was launched just over a month ago and is still drawing in quite the crowd.
“We are still having interest in the ‘Frame It’ frame and residents are using it on a daily basis,” he says. “Our March monthly draw will take place on April 3rd and prizes this month include a gift card to Mr. Mikes Steakhouse!”
The frames will be up until December and are part of the TOSL’s Canada 150 festivities.
“Just a reminder that residents who do take photos with the frame can hashtag the photo on either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram,” says Brown. “Get out and Frame IT!”
If taking selfies isn’t your cup of tea but you still want to get involved with Canada 150 activities, there is an upcoming planning session on April 5th inside council chambers.
The session starts at 5:00 p.m. and attendees will be discussing Canada Day 2017.
At the last planning session, moving the usual Canada Day celebration from Schurter Park to downtown was a hot topic. Also incorporating more activities and local groups was another idea brought up. The public is welcome to attend and share their ideas.
