Frost Fest 2021

Frost Fest was different this year, because of (surprise surprise) COVID. The weather also didn’t cooperate, with wind chills well below -40°C for most of the week. However, some people did submit photos of the fun they had.
Some events are also carrying on to this week.

It’s been hard lately to get photographs of anything much but blowing snow. Stepping in to help The Leader find a front-page picture this week is Logan Persson of Slave Lake. Thanks! (It was actually an entry in one of the town’s Frost Fest events.)
Patti Campsall and Laura Brandon with the first clue to the Boreal Forest Fortune Seekers treasure hunt. Due to the cold weather, it is running this week instead of last. The map and instructions are on the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation’s Facebook page.
Ella Saluk makes snowman slime at home. Her parents sent the photos to the Town of Slave Lake, who passed them along.
Snowman slime was one of three at-home kits that the Town of Slave Lake provided as part of Frost Fest. The free kits were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Slave Lake.
Tricky Tim does magic online for the Slave Lake Library. School classes and some individual kids watched the show.
