Swan River First Nation School held its fashion show in the school gym on June 10.

Students, staff and participants modeled ribbon shirts, ribbon skirts and many other Indigenous outfits. Amanda Wanotch of Queen Essentials and Seven Generations Healing was the MC and organized the event.

The designers of the outfits were April Giroux, Melissa Giroux and Sharon Davis. Designers were said outloud as each student and staff came out. “We hope to do this again,” says Kevin Buffalo, principal of Swan River School.

Jaxon Brandson showcased a ribbon outfit.
