The summer programs guide is being released for mid-June, said Hartman.

A free teen carnival is taking place at the Multi-Rec Centre (MRC) on June 28 from noon to 5 p.m. It is for teens ages 12-18 only. There will be a DJ, games and a photobooth.

For Canada Day, all the activities will be held at the MRC, said Hartman. A free pancake breakfast will be at the MRC parking lot from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be free Canada day festivities held inside the MRC fieldhouse from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festivities will include games, inflatables, face painting and roaming performers. There will also be a ‘sensory hour’ from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is to accommodate individuals with sensory processing differences such as autism, ADHD, PTSD etc. There was a good response when this was done for the Frolic in the Park event, said Hartman. Food trucks will be in the MRC parking lot, along with a dunk tank, and possibly a farmers market. The farmers market is not confirmed, said Hartman. Hartman said she is trying to convince a couple town council members to dunk themselves.
