Jigsaw wars

Slave Lake’s Byte Hub has started holding public game events, and if the turnout at the Puzzle Battle one on Jan. 8 is anything to go by, it’s an idea whose time has come. Eight teams competed to see which could complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle first. Winning by a nose, in 47 minutes, was Team Puzzle Masters, ahead of runners-up Jigsaw Junkies. Team 3rd Place finished third (and chose their team name on the spot). Byte Hub owner Abby Quimson says it was the second Puzzle Battle event. She hopes to do one or two a month from now on. Byte Hub also held a trading card night and an adult-only board game night. She says teams should register ahead of time, because there’s only room for eight (for the puzzle events).
