As you may or may not know, Slave Lake’s three large forest products companies are developing a 10-year forest management plan. It’s a big undertaking, involving much besides a forecast for where logging will happen and when.
One of the parties involved in the discussions is the Lesser Slave Lake Watershed Council (WC), which of course has an interest in anything that affects (or could affect) the water running into the big lake. The WC was good enough to send The Leader some information on the plan. We thought we’d pass on a reminder that there is still an opportunity to provide input into it. One way to do this is online. The management plan has its own website, at lslrfmp.com. All sorts of information is there, as well as a feedback opportunity. Open houses are planned for the spring.
