Josie Radkevich’s beautiful garden

Chastin Martel
Lakeside Leader

Josie Radkevich has been gardening for her entire life, 70 years to be exact. She lives in Slave Lake.

One thing that stands out in her garden are all the colourful flowers. This is an aspect she enjoys.

Radkevich maintains her garden with the help of her son, Ron. His favourite flower is a yellow lily in their front yard. Her garden features many plants such as a cherry tree, petunias, sunflowers, vegetable garden and many more.

We’re still accepting ‘Beautiful Gardens’ nominations. If you have a fall garden, call The Leader at 780-849-4380.

Lots of yellow!

In Radkevich’s backyard there is a large area with sunflowers. In the background on the left, there is a cherry tree.

Rocks, decorations and some plants make her front yard pleasing to eye.
A wooden house structure in her front yard. Parts of it hold various plants. This is one part of Radkevich’s garden she is proud of.
