Good work by many on U13 tournament; such events are good business all around
To the Editor:
Attention: Mr. Kevin Campbell, President Slave Lake Minor Baseball Association (SLMBA)
Just a short note to thank you for the opportunity and honour to throw out the first pitch for the 13U AA Tier 3 Provincial Baseball tournament.
Most importantly I want to thank SLMBA for being such an excellent host; you guys did an unbelievable job! Just when you thought everything was perfect, your host committee came with bottled water and then when it rained they were there with temporary tents.
You guys are amazing and I’m proud of you and proud of being a resident of the Slave Lake community.
More important is what your association does for the kids; your executive, coaches, and baseball families group is to be complimented! When you guys/community went out and raised monies from private and business to resurface your infields, this facilitated the hosting of provincials and is appreciated by the community.
I own and operate a number of companies/businesses that benefit from your sponsoring of the 13U provincials! If our community does not have playable diamonds suitable for provincial/national standards this wouldn’t have happened.
One of my companies, Economic Destination, builds, develops, and constructs sports fields. The provincial tournament on August 27 – 29, 2021 created an economic destination! Our restaurant, TA’s Asian Grill & Steakhouse, had the best Friday Buffet ever and the best weekend ever! Thanks to the community, visitors and ball players and their families for that support.
I would be remiss without complimenting the community/municipality of Slave Lake; Mayor Tyler Warman and Council for supporting SLMBA and their support of Ry-True Construction maintenance and management of the diamonds over the summer and during the Provincials, as without these standards of quality diamond maintenance such events would not have been possible.
Thanks for all your good work.
