Like looking for a needle in a haystack

When this was written, the search continued for Leard Robertson of Slave Lake, whose boat was discovered nearly two weeks ago on Lesser Slave Lake with nobody in it. Usually stories like that don’t end well.

Searching continued through last week. It’s a monumental task, given the size of Lesser Slave.

Is it too early to be offering condolences? Besides Mr. Robertson’s family, his loss is another hard blow to the Gilwood Golf Club, where he was head groundskeeper for many years. Doubly so, because Gilwood lost its popular manager, Tony Griffi, last year, also in a water accident, from what we’ve heard.

In our experience, Robertson was a good guy, popular at the golf course, the curling rink and in the community. He will be sorely missed.
