Loon River First Nation hosted Treaty Days August 14 to 16. It opened with a parade and grand entry on Wednesday and ended with a traditional feast on Friday, followed by a talent show. On Wednesday, there was an elders’ horseshoe tournament, a children’s carnival and axe and knife throwing among other events. Thursday included a brunch, a jamboree, and arm and leg wrestling. Friday had pony rides, an endurance race, and men’s and ladies’ horseshoe tournament. There was also a memorial for Lloyd Noskey, the former MC, who died recently.
