Lots of things on the go for the Regional Arts Council

Summer art camp planning the big one

Callie Hermanson
Lakeside Leader

Youth Art Camp is underway as member Robin-Lee Vance has been working on contacting ladies that have helped out in the past with art camp to see if they would be interested in helping out again this year.
RAC President Megan McNeil says the RAC needs to find a location to hold the art camp for $500 for two weeks. She said a few places the council had in mind is Arena #2 at the Multi-Rec Centre, any of the schools, St. Peter’s Ecumenical Church or The Legion.
McNeil says the council still needs to hire a camp coordinator for a month and the camp’s dates have been picked for July 16 to July 27.
Upcoming events:
Learn to Line Dance with Cathy Redgate May 2 at the Multi-Rec Centre from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The cost is $15. To register visit the Multi-Rec Centre.
Slave Lake Chamber of Commerce Outdoor Trade Show is coming May 4 from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and May 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Multi-Rec Centre.
The Council will have a table at the trade show to promote the group and the upcoming events.
Mother’s Day Tea at St. Peter’s Ecumenical Church on May 12, at 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. Children, teens and adults can invite their mother or grandmother to the tea.
Tea, coffee and juice will be served along with dessert.
At the tea, children and teens can create a potted gift for their guest.
In addition, there will be a draw/silent auction for Mother’s Day gifts donated by local businesses.
The funds raised by the draw/silent auction will be donated to the Northern Haven Support Society.
Next Meeting is June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Multi-Rec Centre.
