Leader staff

July 12, 2021 – The body of a 51-year-old man from Slave Lake reported missing on the afternoon of July 11 has been found, says Slave Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Don Racette. He and his quad were both located with assistance from conservation officers. The Lesser Slave Lake Regional Fire Service, Slave Lake Search and Rescue, and Slave Lake Forestry Air Services were also involved in the search. The man’s name will not be released.

The police are investigating the cause of the man’s death.

As of July 12, there is no new information about the Leard Robertson (58) who went boating on June 30 and didn’t return. His boat was later found, but was empty.

The RCMP asks people to keep an eye out when boating on Lesser Slave Lake. If they spot anything out of the ordinary call 911 or the Slave Lake RCMP (780-849-3999) immediately.

  1. East end. I believe a previous story mentioned he went boating from Slave Lake. There was nothing in any report that indicated where he was likely to have travelled or how big his boat was. Water conditions at the time were rough.
