RCMP arrested a suspect in the homicide of Christopher Lyle Cunningham, 35 of High Prairie, says an RCMP news release.

The news release included the following details:

On October 29, 2020, the RCMP charged a 27-year-old man with manslaughter and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is a member of Atikameg First Nation.

On October 20, 2020, Cunningham’s body was found on a road in Atikameg First Nation. His death was ruled homicide.

(In Canada, a homicide can be manslaughter, first and second degree murder).

The suspect is in custody and was scheduled to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court via CCTV on November 2, 2020.
