Two Slave Lake men are charged with 60 counts of fraud each.

On March 19, 2024, two men from Slave Lake entered not guilty pleas in Edmonton Court of Justice and set a 12 day trail in the fall.

The trial will be on October 24 to November 8, 2024 in Edmonton.

The two men were charged on December 7, 2023, says a news release from the police. The two men were changed for alleged offences from September 13 to December 7, 2023.

The men were arrested based on evidence found at a Slave Lake residence.

A 41-year-old man from Slave Lake was charged with: fraud (x60) and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

A 33-year-old man from Slave Lake was charged with: fraud (x60), theft under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000.

The investigation involved Edmonton Police Service, Slake Lake RCMP General Investigation Services (GIS), and Slave Lake RCMP.

At first the matter was in Slave Lake Court of Justice, but was moved to Edmonton Court of Justice earlier this year.

When the matter was moved to Edmonton, both men were in custody.
