A visit to Slave Lake by a hockey team from LaCrete is a rare event and usually promises good competition. The Slave Lake U15 team certainly had its hands full with the Lumberjacks, who came down Hwy. 88 for a couple of games on the weekend. On Saturday, LaCrete beat the Thunder 6 – 2. Sunday they stopped back in on their way home from an earlier game in Athabasca and won 3 – 1.

Shots were almost dead even on Saturday, but the Thunder struggled to get anything past the Lumberjack netminder. Jayce Beaulac and Seth Myers scored the Slave Lake goals. Grady Beauchamp faced 35 shots in the Slave Lake net.
On Sunday, Liam Dierker got the only Slave Lake goal.

No league games are scheduled for the U15s this weekend.

U18
The Thunder played in Wabasca on Sunday evening, winning 14 – 3. Nathan Hartman and Cole de Champlain both scored hat tricks in the first period – something you don’t see very often. Hartman doubled his goal output through the rest of the one-sided contest, ending up with six. De Champlain scored five times in total. Other Slave Lake scorers were Jethro Green, with three.

The Thunder play in Edson Friday and Hinton on Saturday.

U13
The U13 1 Thunder hosted Camrose for a pair of games on the weekend, winning both. Saturday’s game ended 9 – 3 – a score more lopsided than the play actually was. But Slave Lake’s snipers had a good afternoon, especially in the second period, when they scored six times.

Grayson Conrad scored three times and Kale Whitney twice. Also scoring for Slave Lake were Dawson Taylor, Daniel Normand, Colby Campbell and Colby Churchill. Dayton Seppola had a solid game in net for the Thunder.

Seppola was even tougher to beat on Sunday, earning the shutout in a 7 – 0 Slave Lake victory. Supplying the firepower were Conrad (3), Campbell (2), Whitney and Connor Beauchamp.

The Thunder host Barrhead for two games on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The U13 2 Thunder beat Maskwacis by identical 9 – 2 scores in games Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Brody Whitney scored three; Chase Blanchette and Callum Lindsay got two apiece. Arnold Broadfoot and Carter Donaldson also scored. Isaiah Brown stopped 20 shots in the win.

Nolan Beaupre had the hot hand in Sunday’s game, scoring four straight to start things off.

U13 #3 lost games to Onoway and Whitecourt on the weekend, by scores of 7 – 5 and 10 – 2. Gerald Giroux scored a pair for Slave Lake in the first game. Chase Mountain, Jorgia Green and Connor Noskey also scored. Mountain and Noskey got the Slave Lake goals in Sunday’s game.

U11
Slave Lake’s U11 #3 team, had a Tier VI game in Wetaskiwin on Saturday, which ended with a dramatic 4 – 3 win.

Trailing in the third, the Thunder got late goals from Jack Oostvogels and Kyle Labby to secure the victory. Noah Eben shut the door the rest of the way in the Slave Lake net.

Also scoring for Slave Lake in the game were Parker Green and Mckenna Ghostkeeper.

Troy Derksen of the LaCrete Lumberjacks sets up behind Slave Lake U15 goalie Grady Beauchamp in Saturday’s game.
