Natural alternatives at SL market

Scented Oasis, a natural wellness company founded by Jacqueline Heather in Slave Lake, is gaining attention for its handmade products and its focus on healthier alternatives to chemical-based items.

Heather was among the vendors at the Slave Lake Farmers’ Market, which held an outdoor market on May 23, 2026, and she says the response from the community has been stronger than expected.

Heather said the business began from a deeply personal journey. After becoming ill with Crohn’s disease, she started looking for natural ways to support her health and
That search eventually inspired her to begin making her own products, first for personal use and later for others. What started as a response to her own health challenges has since grown into a small business built around the idea that people should have access to simple, natural options.

Now in her third year of making products and her second year selling them, Heather says every item from Scented Oasis is homemade in small batches and created with care and intention.

She emphasizes that her products are 100 per cent natural, free from harsh chemicals, and designed to offer an alternative to many store-bought options.

As more people look for natural choices in their everyday lives, Heather has noticed a growing demand for what she offers.

She believes that interest reflects a broader shift, with more customers actively seeking products that are homemade, ingredient-conscious, and rooted in wellness.
