Lakeside Leader
Ali Mouallem had only been a High Prairie School Division trustee for three days and he’d already spent a day in meetings, along with his Ward 4 colleague on the board, Joy McGregor, at the head office in High Prairie.
“There are a lot of really good people behind the scenes,” he says. “I think I’m going to have fun working with them.”
He’s also looking forward to working with McGregor as the representative of parents with kids in public schools at this end of the division. She’s the experienced one of the pair, having already served a couple of terms.
“I think we’re going to make a really good team,” he says. “There’s lots to be positive about!”
Mouallem says he’s already been around to introduce himself to the school principals, and will be participating in a tour of all the schools in the division soon. Also, “I’m looking forward to school assemblies,” he says. “All those smiling faces!”
As for McGregor, she said this, in an email to The Leader: “As a trustee I’m excited to move forward with our coaching staff (wellness, success, grad and career as well as dual credit and external relationships building.”
