New Year’s baby!

The first baby born in Slave Lake in 2022 was a real New Year’s baby, coming into the world on Jan. 1. His name is Wyatt Hudson Birky. Pictured are mom Jenna and dad Robert Birky of Slave Lake. On the right is Dianne Cofer of the Slave Lake Hospital Auxiliary, who helped the Birkys celebrate the birth of their first child with some gifts, including a home-made blanket, a toque and a gift certificate.
Robert phoned The Leader on Thursday and said mother and child were both doing well, six days in.
