Northland School Division appoints new deputy superintendent

Northland School Division has a new deputy superintendent.

The division announced in a news release April 17 that Scott Meunier has accepted the job.

Meunier brings over 20 years working in education to the new position. He first joined Northland as an associate superintendent in August of 2001.

“While reviewing applicants for this important position, Mr. Meunier checks a lot of boxes for what is need to ensure Northland students are successful,” says Superintendent Cal Johnson in the news release. “He offers unique skill sets to assist with instructional design, relationship building and diversion-wide education planning and analysis. I feel very confident that Mr. Meunier is an excellent fit for this role.”

In the news release, Meunier says, “I am honoured to continue to serve the Northland School Division in a new role and am grateful for the confidence Supt. Johnson and the board of trustees has placed in me with this appointment,” “I look forward to supporting all staff and our school communities in this new role.”

Meunier has a bachelor of arts in sociology from the University of Regina, a bachelor of education degree, also from the U of R, and a master of education degree from Athabasca University.
