Obituary – Bellerose, George

Passed: December 16, 2004 Grande Prairie, AB
With great sadness, the family of George Felix Bellerose, 92, of Slave Lake announced his passing on Feb. 16, 2011.
George was born in Chisholm, Alberta, on Nov. 12, 1918, to Olivier and Philomene (Savard) Bellerose. George spent all his life in Slave Lake area and was always proud of his family and their extended families. He spent many years logging, trapping, fishing, hunting, reading, listening to music and we will all remember his special chocho to Blue Suede Shoes.
George and Mary Jane joyfully celebrated 70 years of marriage on Oct. 29, 2010 and an anniversary tea was held on George’s 92nd birthday. Left to cherish his many wonderful memories are loving wife Mary Jane, 90 years old and now residing at Vanderwell Heritage Place, and children Cecile (Mike), Larry, Henry, Dennis and Sylvia (Wilf), plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. George was predeceased by son Kenny in 1986 and brothers John, Eddy, Albert and Lawrence, sisters Mary, Victoria and Kathleen. His surviving siblings are Jean and Dora.
The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to Slave Lake Hospital staff, ambulance attendants, Father Jeyapaul, Cliff Sinclair, extended family members and friends for all hospital supports, visits and phone calls, etc.
George was laid to eternal rest on Feb. 23, 2011 at the Slave Lake Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements were by the Chapel of Memories.
