Passed: February 14, 2014
Kimberley Mae Dorken passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2014, at the age of 47 years. Along with her parents, Greg and Ellie Dorken, Kim’s memory will live on in the hearts of her special friend, Judy as well as her two sisters, Leslie (Randy) Zimmerman and Terri (Lee) Keinick. She will be forever remembered and loved by all of her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, especially her loving auntie, Lynn Stride. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Tom and Anne O’Keefe, Richard and Lilian Dorken as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Kimberley Mae Dorken was born in Grand Falls, Nfld. on March 31, 1966, to proud parents, Gregory and Eleanor Dorken. She was raised in Nfld., Labrador, Slave Lake and Medicine Hat. Kim was a pleasure to be around! She was always happy and made a point of putting those around her first, especially when it came to her pride and joy… her black cat, Mick. She was quick to forgive, and never held a grudge with anyone about anything… no matter what! It was that same upbeat, positive attitude that helped her take home numerous bowling trophies over the years through Special Olympics. A come and go time of remembrance will be held in the coming months with further announcements to be made at that time.
