Obituary – Lloyd Eugene LaFrance

June 15th, 1936 – May 31st, 2018

Lloyd was born in Leoville, SASK and moved to Smith , AB in 1955 where he met and married Arlene. They were married in 1958 and spent the next 60 years together. They had five children, sons, Darrell, Mark, Terry and Greg and daughter Shalaine.

Lloyd had an interesting and busy life. A truck driver for the best part but tried many other interests. He believed his sons needed something to do as teen agers so purchased a service station. The boys loved it but it was not for Lloyd so made the big move to Westlock and back into trucking.

In 1984 he broke both of his legs in a work accident which changed his life forever. Not able to drive or work for some years and not able to dance anymore. He started a piloting business for a short time but ended up doing what he always had a passion for until he retired in 2000. After retirement he enjoyed delivering vehicles for Chev Olds in Westlock.

Lloyd and Arlene enjoyed five trips to Alaska, Yuma and many to B.C. with the motorhome. Camping with family and friends and his brothers cabin. Many hours coffeeing with Alby and his buddies.

Lloyd is survived by wife Arlene, sons Mark, Terry (Dawn), Greg, daughter Shalaine (Quinten), Teresa (daughter-in-law) grandchildren Paige (Brandon), Tess (Duncan), Tara (Alan), Jennifer, Ryley, Kierra and Jade; great grandson Ellis, two great granddaughters due this week, many special nieces and nephews and old buddies; brother Leonard (Linda) sisters, Theresa and Gayle (Bob), brothers-in-law Gord, Vern (Loretta), sisters-in-law Ev and Hazel. Predeceased by son Darrell, sisters Dolly and Corinne. There will be no funeral as per Lloyd’s wishes, a family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
