Oilmen’s shoot draws nine teams

The Slave Lake Petroleum Association held its annual fun trap shooting tournament on Saturday, with nine teams of five members each competing. It featured traps (above) and sporting clays events, as well as a ‘50/50 shoot.’ According to Scott Iverson of the Slave Lake Rod and Gun Club, the shooting continues this weekend, with a event for ‘serious’ shooters, coming from all over the province to the gun range on the Marten Hills Road.

A shooter draws a bead on the second of two clay targets flying in different directions in front of him. It’s a bit hard to see, but the target on the left is in two pieces, after a successful first shot.
