One way of looking at it

It’s a bit hard to understand why anyone would oppose the idea of keeping graphic depictions of sex and violence from young children. It’s exactly what any parent would try to do, one would think.

Yet the provincial government is being accused of heavy-handedness, etc. It seems there are those who consider it their business to disagree with whatever the government does or proposes, regardless of the merits. They probably aren’t the same people who did exactly the same thing when the NDP ruled in Alberta, but the psychological circumstances appear to be identical.

I.e. if you don’t like the government, for ideological reasons, you’ll find a reason to dislike anything and everything they do. You will not give the benefit of the doubt, even when a reasonable person might be reasonably expected to.

There are of course a lot of ways of looking at this and any issue, and this is just one of them.
