The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation (BCBC) held its pressed lantern-making and plant walk on the afternoon of August 19. Twelve people took part in the event. Lanterns were created first; then a plant walk followed.
Daylon (left) and Tristan Koebernick were two of the participants. To form the lantern, participants used white glue to paint pieces of paper material and leaves to a balloon.
Braidi Locke, boreal educator for BCBC, organized and guided people on how to make the lanterns. Here she is giving pointers on how to apply a leaf to the lantern.
