RCMP arrest man who threatened to bring a firearm to SL business

On March. 1, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Slave Lake RCMP responded to an uttering threats call that was made to a business on Main Street in Slave Lake.

Initial investigation revealed that a male suspect had threated to bring a firearm into the business.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the suspects residence.

When police searched his home, they seized multiple items, including: rifles, ammunition, and explosives.

The RCMP arrested a 58-year-old man from Didsbury.

The suspect has been charged with: uttering threats, possession of a firearm while unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of firearm, and breach of conditions (x4).

The suspect was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded in custody.

The suspect is to appear next at the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake on March 20, 2024.
